You will learn how to accurately navigate using a map, compass and nature signs on this practical outdoor course.

This course is available at our WESTERN CAPE and GAUTENG training branches.

Navigation techniques are expertly demonstrated by our instructors before you try the skills for yourself.

This complete navigation course is not an endurance course but is conducted in a safe and comfortable bush camp where you will learn all the important skills and enjoy a day in the outdoors.

SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN ON THIS COURSE

  • How to read a topographical map.

  • How to use a compass to take bearings.

  • How to use signs from nature to find direction.

  • How to calculate distance travelled in the outdoors.

  • How to stay found and not get lost.

This navigation course is a complete course and no previous experience is needed. Anyone over the age of 13 years can join.

The course is available at our Gauteng and Western Cape training branch.

  • Survival knife

  • Notebook and pen(cil)
