Our journey over the past 18 years since establishing Boswa Survival in 2007 !
Herman Roos established Boswa Survival in 2007 and started training students in the art of outdoor survival in Hekpoort, Gauteng at the foothills of the magnificent Magaliesberg mountains. After 15 years of training students in Gauteng only, Herman established a second training branch in Gouritsmond, just outside Mosselbay on the Garden Route of the Southern Cape where he now lives and still teach courses.
After the huge success of the Western Cape branch Herman has trained more Boswa Instructors who have established Boswa branches in Cape Town, Eastern Cape, the South Coast of Kwazulu Natal and North West province.
Boswa Survival is still South-Africa’s leading and only accredited survival training academy and we continue to grow to meet the demand for survival and outdoor training courses to students all over South-Africa !
The Western Cape Garden Route training branch is the new basecamp branch and has been a huge success from the start. Herman Roos bought a beautiful farm outside the coastal town of Gouritsmond and all the training courses we offer can be booked and attended at this branch where Herman still teaches on most courses.
Situated just 40km from Mosselbay and 20km from the Indian ocean in coastal bushveld and fynbos against the backdrop of a dramatic mountain cliff !
Our Gauteng training branch is as successful and strong as ever and students can book and attend most of the courses that we offer. The course instructors at the Gauteng branch is world-class and provide the same quality training as students have experienced over the years.
Situated in Hekpoort, Gauteng at the foothills of the magnificent Magaliesberg mountains and close to Hartebeespoortdam, you will experience the incredible beauty of the bushveld set against a dramatic backdrop of ancient mountains !
The Cape Town training branch has been established due to popular demand for courses closer to Cape Town. Boswa instructor Tyron Bergh runs this branch and all our family, kids and basic survival courses are offered at this branch.
Situated in Rietvlei nature reserve close to Bloubergstrand it is the ideal coastal wilderness location set on a safe and beautiful natural environment close to the Atlantic ocean !
The Eastern Cape, Jeffreys Bay training branch is run by Boswa instructor Johan de Wet, who has extensive experience in training students in outdoor skills. Beginner, Basic, Navigation and kids courses are all offered at this branch where students can book and attend incredible courses.
Situated in the world-renowned surfing town of Jeffreysbay, you will be spoilt by breathtaking scenery while soaking your feet in the Indian ocean !
The Kwazulu-Natal training branch was established on the south-coast of South-Africa by Boswa instructor Cole Conway. We offer all our beginner courses, kids courses and some outdoor skills courses to students at this branch.
Situated in a wild coastal area in Umzumbe close to Margate in Kwazulu-Natal, you will experience true coastal forest while hearing the soothing timeless waves crashing in the Indian ocean !
The North-West training branch was established on the Vaalriver of South-Africa by Boswa instructor Schalk Els. We offer all our beginner courses, kids courses and some outdoor skills courses to students at this branch.
Situated on the banks of the magnificent Vaalriver which forms the border between North West and Freestate, you will experience pristine nature around a crackling campfire !
